[info]lillithj prompted me with Lucius, Severus, and Hermione: incunabula, cat, painting, and I wrote A Civilised Refusal (PG; Lucius, Severus, Hermione; 100 words):

"—because Granger would never agree! Even if she did, there's no guarantee that you'd find Sanguinem Magia amongst the Unspeakables' incunabula."

Lucius flicked his fingers and pinched something out of the air. "Cat hair. Orange. 'Granger', is it? And does she wear her old robes, Professor?"

Severus' smile was sudden and nasty; it made his mother's portrait gasp and Lucius' smirk fade. "Change the subject, 'old friend'."

"I will not. I cannot alter the manor's wards without it!"

"How very unfortunate," Hermione said lightly, to Eileen's chuckling and the rustling of books, as she joined them with the tea tray.

Great drabble! I love that this hints at a backstory, but actually leaves open several possibilities.

One thousand pardons, I've not logged in in quite a bit. Thank you!

The old robes? Oh dear, oh dear...

Like the other folks who commented, I would love to know a bit of back story.
