Cows *are* fun! (Links and such): ETA

You'll understand this post's title once you get to the cow song. ;)

Before links and such, I wanted to tell you that I've received confirmations, in one way or another, for all Snape Showcase participants. As well, 17 people have signed up to pinch-hit! Thank you, participants and potential pinch-hitters! I don't think that I've ever run a fest that's come together this quickly before, and I'm v. excited about it. *\o/*

Here are my answers to the 20 Questions Meme:

1. What songs are you currently addicted to?

None.

2. What are you currently reading?

Nothing, actually, because I'm writing so much. The only reading I'm doing is research.

3. What was the last movie you saw?

Temple Grandin

4. What makes you angriest/most frustrated right now?

Mom.

5. Favourite book and why?

I can't pick only one, so I'll say Anne of Green Gables. L. M. Montgomery's Anne is so unapologetically herself that I fell in love with her and her story when I was nine. I wanted to be her bosom friend. (I also wanted to pair her with Diana Barry before I even knew what that meant. :P)

6. What are your current addictions?

Benson & Hedges 100's Deluxe Ultra Lights (Menthol)—Unfortunately, the fuckers have recently changed the name and formulation of my smokes, and Benson & Hedges 100's Deluxe cigarettes now taste like ass and burn out in between puffs. I am profoundly bitter about it. (Er, yeah. My quitting? Didn't take.)

Caesar salad and toasted cheese bread.

7. What is your favourite t-shirt?

This one.

8. Something about you that most people don't know? Extra points if it is interesting.

*isn't going to receive extra points* I don't salt my eggs.

9. What was the last thing you bought?

An organic chicken for roasting.

10. Do you have more friends online or off?

They overlap, but online.

11. Something that made you laugh today?

Big Bang Theory's, "The Lunar Excitation."

12. Favourite non-alcoholic beverage?

When it's cold outside, Lupin’s Delight (a hot spiced dark cocoa); when it's hot outside, iced raspberry tea.

13. What was the last thing you ate?

Roasted chicken, roasted asparagus, and cheesy herbed smashed potatoes.

14. What are your current favourite pairings?

In my mind (because even if I weren't writing, I can't find it *sobs*): Lord Quimby/Sugar's Leg!Perkins (Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter).

Also in my mind (because I'm waiting for the show's writers to go there): Penny/Sheldon (Big Bang Theory)

In HP: Charlie/Draco, Snape/anyone, and Snuna.

In Star Trek (Rebootverse): Spock/Uhura (I keep meaning to write more of this pairing; eventually, I'll get around to reading more of it, too).

15. Favourite website(s)?

Animelds
Arts & Letters Daily
Bent Objects
Cats in Sinks
Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency
Feeding America: The Historic American Cookbook Project
Phrontistery
USDA National Nutrient Database

16. What are your plans for tomorrow?

Cooking, baking, hiking, and writing. Possibly doing laundry.

17. What kind of music is contained in your hard drive?

I never did reload my music after switching to my new laptop (I've been relying upon Pandora), so Robyn Hitchcock and a loop of the intro to Dresden Dolls', "Missed Me." Shog made it for me because it helps me ignore internal distractions when I'm writing. For some reason that I cannot define, it also reminds me of the waltzing scene between Lili and the dancing black dress in Legend (here's an article about Lili, complete with waltz clip). On a slightly related note, I found a vid of Tim Curry being interviewed in 1969 while looking for the waltzing scene: so pretty!

18. Favourite colour?

Hunter green.

19. Pet peeve?

Only one? *coughs* Well, it's not asterisk abuse. ;) I can't pick only one; have three:

People who can't make their subjects and verbs agree; specifically, "there's" when used thus: "There's three people interested in that item."

Alton Brown's use of "thusly."

Men who refer to caring for their own children as "babysitting."

20. Guilty pleasure(s)?

Sending Shog ribald emails that inspire him to come home early
Phallic vegetables
Mo's Bacon Bar from Vosges

None, actually—why ruin pleasure with guilt?

Here are the latest links from Shog:

The Birthday Skeleton creeps me out (WS comic)

Constructionware (WS ThinkGeek product)

Cows with guns are cool (scroll down for the vid of the song, which is hilarious—relatively WS)

Cute kitteh GIF (WS)

I, Lobot: A Day in the Life of Lando Calrissian's Assistant (relatively WS)

P.S. Edited to change my icon: Happy Glorious 25th, everyone! And happy Towel Day and Universal Day of the Jedi to you, as well!

I just want you to know that you are the ONLY person I know who uses "as well," at the start of a sentence properly. I work with a woman who writes paragraphs like, "Before links and such, I wanted to tell you that I've received confirmations, in one way or another, for all Snape Showcase participants. As well, my cat threw up a mouse eyeball today." NO sense whatsoever that "as well" needs to link RELATED ideas, not any random shit that falls out of her peabrain. Yeesh.

So. Thank you. :D
