One of our friends has hunters in the family and gave us venison bologna, a roast, and about a pound of backstrap because the meat wasn't disappearing from her freezer quickly enough. *dances* The backstrap is gone. *whistles* In exchange, I'll be providing her with Vegan Cranberry Seed Crackers, and in future, trading whatever pastry is desired in exchange for more venison (especially if I can get the bones). Tonight's meal was just fantastic; we had the venison over my broccoli-quinoa salad—simple and easy!

I've been eating vegetarian meals for days, properly balanced, of course, but I really needed the meat. I also need chia; I've actually managed to run out. o.O I eat chia seeds right much every day; I don't know how I allowed myself to run out. Poor seed management, that.

Thank you so much to everyone who condoled with my over Zelda. Losing her so close to the 'Foot was very hard, and I've been eating my grief (hence going vegetarian for a while; it's the safest thing to do when I feel like eating my emotions). That needs to stop, the grief-eating (there's family-related stuff mixed in, as well), and it will. Soon. But thank goodness for generous friends!

*abruptly changes subject*

Has anyone seen Emma Watson's Beauty and the Beast? I really wanted to see it but got sidetracked. How is it? I have never, er, actually seen the animated original, so I'm looking forward to seeing this movie.

And now Shog's taking me for frozen custard because I still have some calories. *twirls*

I eat the occasional meatless meal but not for any length of time. The broccoli-quinoa salad sounds like a great side or veg. main dish. With some diced cooked chicken breast added it would be a great one dish meal.

The salad is a great base for proteins; that's the way Shog usually eats it. I like to throw feta into it and serve it to myself with Vegan Cranberry Seed Crackers. Sometimes, I throw it into bone broth and make soup out of it (often with tempered egg for richness). Oh! And I think that the salad would make a great base for a savory custard meal, as well, but I've not yet tried that.

I've seen Emma's Beauty and the Beast and I quite liked it. But the original is one of my absolute FAVORITE Disney movies. She did Belle justice.

Good to know—and I really must see the original!

I'm sorry to hear about Foot too. :(

I saw Emma's Beauty and the Beast and liked it. Although, Malificent is still my favorite of the luve action movies in the genre. Even though I'm not a fan of Jolie.

Thank you. *hugs*

Jolie did a fine job as Malificent, I thought, and that movie is so beautifully shot that I'm never tired of watching it for its background detail. :P I'm glad that you enjoyed BatB; I can't wait to see it!
