I did many things before it was light enough for the dog park, including watch a herd of deer graze in the back yard amongst a bunch of slinky, bobbing-necked cats. They're not certain what the deer are, but they know that they don't want 'em in their yard. On the way home from the park, Albus and I stopped on the Big Road to walk along its path and visit with cows. Albus is fascinated by them, particularly the smells that they produce. Ugh. But, loyal and good dog. *held nose*

Shog wants me to make this pie crust. It's pretty, but it looks like too much work for too little pay off. That said, I might consider using it for hand pies—but Shog's getting angel food cake, featuring toasted sugar, for his birthday.

In Game of Thrones news, I'm delighting in the potential future pairing of Brienne and Tormund! The looks, the eating out of bread, the cute little smile, and Brienne's umbrage at it all! Hee! Have a funny little related meme. Have several more! *can't stop giggling*

Ah! There was also male frontal nudity in the latest episode, but I found it gratuitous. I'd really like to see more scene-specific male nudity. Baby steps (but not a baby dick: they found a nice one, and a better ass to go with it :P).

On our mini Internet date, Shog and I were pleased to read that Harley Quinn will be headlining a female-led DC movie. We also reread vegablack62's house-elf classic, To Be a Customer, and spent time at Pam Aus' YouTube channel (eagles and foxes and cats!) after visiting the DC Eagle Cam. And then I did more laundry, took Albus out, played with the cats, got in the prime pantry boxes (let the poor delivery guy use our bathroom; he was walking funny funnily funny, for God's sake), and prepared two fics for posting in the sshg_promptfest while Shog went back to work.

Now, Shog's preparing lunch: pan-fried Brussels with garlic, topped with an over-medium egg (and further topped with a wee bit of bacon by me once he's not looking). *whistles*

I'm having a really nice, productive day. I hope that you are, as well! :D

That is the coolest pie-crust ever. I must try it. Also the toasted sugar, mmmm. I only recently learned from my mom how to make my own candied pecans for use in salads, with goat cheese and dried cranberries, and I'm feeling adventurous.

Isn't the dceaglecam addictive?? I saw one of them out exploring a branch the other day and held my breath in terror that he would plummet off. I'll feel better once they can fly properly!

Edit: Is there an actual recipe for the pie crust? I don't see it...

There's no actual recipe; my assumption is that the baker just made a cinnamon-sugar mix, spread it out on the rolled sheet, rolled it, and then cut it into disks. The idea of it makes me want to try a savory variation for meat and veg hand pies, perhaps with Pecorino-Romano and dried herbs. God, I want to be baking right now!

I get so nervous when the eagles attempt branches; I don't want them to fall!

There are a bazillion uses for toasted sugar. I'd like to try it in coffee. :D (It's not the most special of uses, but I only get one teaspoon of sugar a day.)

Hell to the no on that pie crust. Anything that doesn't come in a Pillsbury box is too much work for me. (But I also don't really like pie crust, so a fancy version isn't going to sway me. Now, fancy buttercream frosting -- that's another story.)

Mmm, buttercream frosting! I would love some of that right now.

As well, agreed. That crust would be a huge pain in the butt to construct.
